What To Expect

We start off with a visist to one of the highest parts of the Caldeirão mountains with a short coffe stop with a fantastic views.

Although there is not much evidence to prove it. Salir itself was occupied by the Moors in the 12th century, when Salir Castle was built to protect the southern Algarve from Christian reconquest. So far, it has only been possible to excavate some of the castle's foundations.

Agricultural production in this region includes cork, carob, figs and almonds. The arbutus distilled arbutus brandy is a very popular digestive. Hunting is an important activity and restaurants in the area specialize in various types of stews.
